Buongiorno amic* lettor*!
Quest'anno ho iniziato la lettura di molte serie, maggiormente arretrati e già concluse. Sfortunatamente non tutte mi hanno conquistato e non avendo tutto il tempo del mondo ho deciso che continuerò solo alcune di quelle iniziate.
Oltre che per parlarvi bene di queste serie, non sempre nominate, ho scritto quest'articolo come sfida per me stessa, perché visto che sono tutte serie concluse voglio provare a finirle il prossimo anno.
ASH PRINCESS TRILOGY

Uno dei primi libri letti quest'anno e mi ero ripromessa di leggere almeno il secondo entro il 2020, ma mi sono fatta distrarre da altri mille romanzi, quindi passa direttamente al 2021.
E' un primo libro abbastanza semplice, senza grandi differenze da tanti altri libri dello stesso genere, però mi ha accattivato fin da subito e ammetto che una delle grandi ragioni per cui voglio continuare è il triangolo, che anche nella sua non originalità, mi ha interessato e ora necessito di sapere chi lei sceglierà!
THE POPPY WAR
La Guerra dei Papaveri è sicuramente uno dei libri più interessanti che ho letto quest'anno, non mi ha convinto al 100%, ma voglio assolutamente sapere cos'altro succederà. Ammetto che vorrei continuare in italiano, ma non sapendo i tempi di pubblicazione ho comunque già pronti i libri in inglese...

Non so il come, il perché, il quando, ma è stato amore. Sono davvero tanto presa da questa storia e più di una volta da quando ho finito il libro mi sono messa a pensare ai personaggi, che sono il vero pezzo forte. Per Natale ho messo in lista la serie completa, non è qualcosa che faccio spesso, perché anche dopo un bellissimo primo romanzo, può capitare un disastroso sequel (ogni riferimento a Blood & Honey è puramente casuale), ma questa volta voglio dare fiducia alla scrittrice. Ti prego non deludermi!
THE BRIDGE KINGDOM

Tecnicamente mancano ancora tre libri prima di finire la serie, ma visto che solo i primi due hanno come protagonisti Lara e Aren la conto come serie conclusa (soprattutto perché mi sono accorta che voglio continuare davvero poche serie iniziate quest'anno). Ho letto il primo libro all'inizio dell'anno perché Erika me lo ha regalato per il compleanno e tutto quello che si dice sul romanzo è vero: interessante, adrenalinico e con una storia d'amore da avere gli occhi a cuoricino per tutto il tempo. Unico dettaglio che poteva essere migliorato è l'ambientazione, una mappa avrebbe risolto molti problemi. Anche il secondo di questa serie è stato messo nella lista di Natale e sarà sicuramente una delle mie prime letture del 2021.

Poppy is not only on the verge of losing her heart and being found unworthy by the gods, but also her life when every blood-soaked thread that holds her world together begins to unravel.
Sempre per lo stesso motivo precedente, cioè la pochezza di serie interessanti lette quest'anno, imbroglio ancora una volta perché mi piace il numero cinque e mi è piaciuto il primo libro della nuova serie della Armentrout. Inoltre, considerando la velocità della scrittrice è possibile che finisca la serie principale già l'anno prossimo, quindi può essere considerata "conclusa". Comunque trovo il libro, e mi azzardo a dire anche la serie, qualcosa che piacerà ai fan della scrittrice che arrivano per la coppia, ma anche agli amanti dei fantasy, in quanto questa volta i due elementi sono cinquanta e cinquanta.
Queste sono le serie che sicuramente continuerò l'anno prossimo e voi? Che serie iniziate quest'anno volete continuare nel 2021?

La serie di Kuang mi incuriosisce un sacco; spero di riuscire a recuperare il primo volume prima dell''uscita del secondo in Italia 🙈

La Guerra dei Papaveri è un libro davvero interessante e anche molto crudo e per me questo è uno dei suoi punti a favore, perché trovo che tantissim* scrittor* vogliano osare, ma non riescono mai a spingersi oltre ad una sottilissima linea, al contrario la Kuang l'ha fatto e come suo primo romanzo è davvero fenomenale.
DeletePer The Bridge Kingdom è davvero interessante il fatto che lei sia stata cresciuta per diventare un'assassina, ma al contempo è a tutti gli effetti una reale. Di solito lo diventano dopo o perché il loro regno è stato catturato. Ha decisamente qualcosa che ricorda altri libri (ma ormai quale romanzo non hanno niente che possa essere ricollegato ad altri), però la scrittrice è stata brava ad utilizzare tutti gli elementi per creare una storia molto accattivante.
